Active ingredients

Alpinia Galanga contains volatile oil, 1'= more than 90% of the total amount of acetoxy piperonyl acetate, and the rest is 1'-acetoxy eugenol acetate, syringene epoxy, and eugenol;

The flavonoids contained are isorhamnetin, kaempferol, galangin, and galangin-3-methyl ether, among which the content of galangin is relatively high.

Extraction processing method

The volatile oil of Alpinia Galanga can be prepared by steam distillation, and the extract of Alpinia Galanga can be extracted according to conventional methods by using alcohol, an aqueous solution of alcohol, and water as solvents.

Pharmacology

The extract of Greater Galangal(Alpinia Galanga) can inhibit the periodontal disease pathogens such as Fusobacterium nucleatum, Bacteroides melanogenum, Porphyromonas gingivalis, and Streptococcus mutans, and the MIC value is about 500mg/kg.

Greater Galangal Extract(Alpinia Galanga alcohol extract) has an inhibitory effect on uricase and antibacterial properties are suitable for inhibiting body odor products and has broad-spectrum inhibition on oral microorganisms. It can be used in oral hygiene products to prevent periodontitis. Alpinia Galanga extract can still be used as an Antioxidant, humectant, and anti-inflammatory.
